And it's not just the Moon!
I remember working years back, and people would have little candy dishes with the Hershey's Miniatures in them. When you'd walk by the first time, you'd see the Krackel's all gone...the next time the Mr. Goodbar's, then the Milk Chocolate, and no one would even consider approaching the Special Dark's because they were apparently TABOO!
Well, not me... for some reason, I always had a taste for those, so I'd have a plentiful bounty as I wandered through the office...in fact, one of the secretaries I had to deal with a lot noticed that I liked them, and would ask if I wanted to take what she had so she could fill it up with more Krackel's, and such... I was in dark chocolate heaven!
Fast forward to 2015, and it seems that the Special Darks are the first to go... in fact, they have bags of JUST Special Darks, bags of dark chocolate M&M's, and Kisses, etc. And when you walk by the candy dishes...the Milk Chocolate bars are the loners....Not a fan of Hershey's Milk Chocolate....so I have to pass them by. Probably better for my waistline anyway....
Speaking of dark chocolate...remember when you got the bag of chips, and opened them up and poured them into the bowl for the party, there were always those 2 or 3 chips that were a little darker than the rest, and you quickly scarfed them up so no one else would get them...you'd savor their flavor...well NOW they sell the dark chips, and they are a DEADLY thing to have in your house! I've been pretty weight conscious the past few years, and have lost a few pounds, trust me I feel better, and it's nice to get into some of the old clothes I've had sitting in a closet for a few years...but I'm now sorry that I tossed the BIG clothes I had because of these chips! THEY ARE ADDICTING! When I know I'll be having some chips with my lunch, I seem to anticipate it, and pull the bag of chips down...and think "a few won't hurt"...then a few more...and a few more and...well you get the picture....I need help!
The last thing I'm thinking about in the dark realm is dark roast coffee! I've always hated the stupid saying that some people said when they were asked about how they wanted their coffee.... "I like my coffee how I like my women...strong and black" Kinda rude, and stupid, but I get it. (and apologies to any of my friends that may be offended by that comment) I like my coffee strong, but I like a little cream and sugar in it..so whenever I make my coffee, I always put more than the usual allotted amount into the brewing basket to make it a little stronger...which I have to watch if Lisa is having coffee with me, then I have to abide by the rules, and even make it a LITTLE less strong for her. I have been seeing the Dark Roast coffee's out there, and decided to try it once at either a Starbucks, or a Panera or someplace like that...so I've picked up the Dunkin' Dark for the occasional pot...good stuff! (but I still make it stronger)
Flavor is what it's all about..and the richer the flavor the better!
